Welcome to the Association of Travel Insurance Intermediaries

Who are we?

The Association represents intermediaries who specialise in travel insurance within the UK, whether they be working with businesses or selling direct to the public. Our members supply their products through many different sales channels, from travel agents and tour operators to direct-sell websites and comparison sites.

Whilst the ATII is not a consumer body, it does expect its members to work to the standards expected of professional insurance intermediaries, and to adhere to the rules of the Financial Services Authority (FSA). All of our members have agreed to uphold the levels of customer care and integrity that we believe are necessary to promote trust and consumer satisfaction within the industry.

What do we do?

The ATII works closely with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) travel committee, and the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), liaising with them on matters relating to travel insurance. We also meet with the FSA and other relevant government authorities to lobby on matters such as regulatory matters and taxation. We have worked together on many issues including the introduction of FSA regulation in recent years and, more recently, the impact of European Laws surrounding gender and age discrimination.
